TDIKH: February 1

By once again putting on an offensive showcase, Kobe Bryant asserted himself as the leading scorer in franchise history.

The reigning NBA Finals MVP poured in 44 points to pass Jerry West (25,192) for the most ever scored by a player in purple and gold.

“It’s a great honor to say the least (because) of the great players that have played here and the tradition we have,” Bryant told the media. “(West) taught me so much when I was 17 years old. He showed me a lot about the game; the jump shot and spin moves and all the others.
