The Chicago Sky were the fastest-paced team in the WNBA last year and returned the bulk of their roster in 2020; they then proceeded to play the fastest-paced game of the league’s opening weekend in their win over Las Vegas.
With Chicago’s starting center Stefanie Dolson out for Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks, the Sky were forced to double-down on their pace-and-space identity, and the Sparks just couldn’t keep up.
L.A. turned the ball over 16 times and got repeatedly burned in transition en route to a 96-78 loss, dropping to 1-1 this season.
