The Los Angeles Lakers have continued to remodel their roster, renouncing Julius Randle's contract and agreeing to a deal with veteran point guard Rajon Rondo, sources have told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Randle, 23, now becomes an unrestricted free agent and the Lakers gain salary-cap space by renouncing the man they extended a $5.6 million qualifying offer to last week.
Los Angeles drafted Randle with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 draft. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged a career-high 16.1 points to go with 8.0 rebounds last season.
Rondo has agreed to join the Lakers on a one-year, $9 million deal, according to sources, after spending last season with the New Orleans Pelicans.
