Russell Out, Ingram In at San Antonio

Prior to L.A.’s Wednesday evening tip in San Antonio, Luke Walton offered an update on the respective knees of his two No. 2 overall picks: D’Angelo Russell is out with knee soreness, and Brandon Ingram in, though on a minutes limit.

Russell banged his knee, and it was sore at Wednesday morning shootaround, enough for him to miss the game. The injury is not thought to be serious, however, and the Lakers will see how Russell is feeling on Thursday upon the team’s return to Los Angeles.

Ingram, on the other hand, experienced a bit of soreness when going through his pregame routine, but lobbied Walton to let him play.
