Tied in what was a competitive series, and heading into a pivotal Game 5 in the desert, the Los Angeles Lakers simply failed to show up, as the Phoenix Suns jumped out to a 30-point lead in the first half and never looked back.
After a brief glimmer of hope that was sparked by a Markieff Morris 3-pointer to open the game, the Suns thoroughly thrashed the reigning champs the rest of the way en route to securing a 3-2 series lead.
To be clear, the series is not over. Anthony Davis, who was ruled out just minutes before the game, may return in Game Six.
