When the Los Angeles Lakers were heading into their matchup with the Denver Nuggets on Monday, their goal was very likely not only to win, but try to take that pivotal first step in building momentum for their last few games. As Anthony Davis soared across the court for what would become the game-sealing block, it was clear the team accomplished both.
For the first time in a long time, the Lakers looked like their championship-winning-selves again. The defense was swarming, Davis was a force on both ends of the floor and there were countless contributions from up and down the roster, the biggest of which arguably came from Marc Gasol, whose performance should propel him back into the regular rotation, a reality that brings us to today’s episode.
