On Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that voting for the NBA’s regular season awards will take place from July 21-28, and that the results will be announced during the playoffs as opposed to after the playoffs like they’ve done in recent years.
While this means that anything that happens in the eight seeding in Orlando will be excluded from voters’ consideration, this new timetable does bring the extra fun of players looking to take their frustration out on the floor once announcements are made, just like old times. How many of those slighted players will be Lakers is still to be seen.
