Player Grades: Lakers vs. Sixers

Well, that was awful.

There really isn’t any way to sugarcoat a nearly 50-point loss like the Lakers suffered to the Sixers on Monday. You could take the glass-half-full approach and note that the team had only eight players available and had been playing well leading up to this result, but that doesn’t completely cover the ground for a loss this big.

Blowouts like this require two parties to cooperate. The Lakers were bad on both ends, but the Sixers also shot at an unsustainable level. Unfortunately for the Lakers, the regression to the mean didn’t come in the 48 minutes on Monday and the Sixers finished just one made 3-pointer short of their franchise record of 23.
