NEWPORT BEACH Newport Beach Councilman Scott Peotter was officially notified Tuesday of residents’ intention to recall the first-term councilman.
During public comments Tuesday night, three residents accused Peotter, who represents District 6, of ignoring the wishes of constituents and being disrespectful while conducting city business.
“The residents of Corona del Mar are not being properly represented by their councilman,” said Harbor Commission Chair Paul Blank. “(This is) a man who has consistently opposed parks, libraries, fire stations and the people who use them.”
A committee formed to oust Peotter from the council, Recall Scott Peotter, signaled the recall actions were coming when it filed paperwork with the city last week.
