The Los Angeles Lakers met with Detroit Pistons big man Greg Monroe on Wednesday morning, but did not offer a maximum salaried contract, according to Mike Bresnahan. Bresnahan also reports that the meeting was "a good exchange of ideas."
Monroe averaged 15.9 points on 49.6 percent shooting and 10.2 rebounds in the '14-15 NBA season with the Pistons, and is reportedly seeking a maximum contract. With LaMarcus Aldridge ruling out the Lakers, it remains to be seen if the team holds fast on not offering Monroe the max or is willing to offer more money now that their primary target has turned them down.
