NBA All-Star game: Lakers' Kobe Bryant soaks it in for one last time

TORONTO >> The glowing words struck Kobe Bryant as he heard Magic Johnson address his greatness.

“There will never be another Kobe Bryant,” Johnson boasted.

The two tribute videos explained why, showing a loop of plays that brought Bryant five NBA titles and endless memories.

“I’ve been extremely fortunate to play the game I love,” Bryant said at center court, “and to be in the game for more than half my life.”

Soon enough, Bryant continued playing the game he loves. No one will mistake the Western Conference All-Stars’ 196-173 victory over the East All-Stars on Sunday at Air Canada Centre as quality basketball.
