EL SEGUNDO – I’m not going to tell Kobe Bryant what to do.
It’s his future, his career, his lasting memory.
I’m not going to tell him this simply must be his final season any more than I’m going to join the silly chorus currently wailing on off-key about Peyton Manning needing to retire.
It’s a little absurd, frankly, for any outsider to instruct an elite performer about how, when or why to step aside.
Seriously, who am I – a guy who could rupture an elbow tendon reaching for another slice of pizza – to tell one of the greatest basketball players of all-time what’s best for his legacy?
