Metta World Peace to the rescue? Not quite yet, Lakers' Scott says

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- The Lakers' defense has been atrocious through two games, ranking 29th out of 30 teams in defensive efficiency.

They also gave up 132 points in a humiliating 18-point loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.

Perhaps the Lakers should give (Metta) World Peace a chance?

The 35-year-old forward -- formerly Ron Artest -- and 2003-04 NBA Defensive Player of the Year has been inactive through the team's first two games.

And, sure, World Peace isn't what he used to be, but given how the Lakers' defense has looked so far.
