ANAHEIM – A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a fiery crash between a Volkswagen Jetta and a box truck carrying linens on the westbound 91 freeway near Weir Canyon Road shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, authorities said.
The Jetta, was traveling at a high rate of speed in the number three lane when it collided with the slower-moving box truck and burst into flames, said Sgt. Joe Chavez of the California Highway Patrol. Both vehicles were fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.
No one was injured in the fiery crash.
The wreckage and firefighting operation prompted the temporary closure of the 3, 4, 5 and 6 lanes, which were all clear by 4 a.
