Before the Lakers’ meeting with Maccabi Haifa of the Israeli Premier League on Sunday, head coach Byron Scott received a request he’s heard many times before. But this time, it wasn’t a fan who wanted a photo with the former Showtime Laker, but the opposing team’s general manager and coach.
“The coach and the manager were like, ‘Can I take a picture with you? I used to watch you play. This is a big honor,’” Scott said at practice the day after LA’s 126-83 win. “And I’m looking at them like, ‘OK?’
“It’s kind of cool to know that back in the day a lot of those guys even back then, 30 years ago, were watching the NBA and watching us play.
