HOUSTON >> The irritated tone in Luke Walton’s voice sounded louder with each word he spoke.
The Lakers suffered a 134-95 loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday at Toyota Center in what marked one of their worst defensive performances. The Lakers (10-14) dropped their fourth consecutive game as they nursed prolonged absences to D’Angelo Russell, Nick Young and Jose Calderon. Walton used his ninth starting lineup combination with Marcelo Huertas (10 points, seven assists, six turnovers) and Jordan Clarkson (seven points on 3-of-13 shooting) manning the backcourt, an experiment that did not solve the team’s issues with slow starts.
