Early Friday morning, a report surfaced that Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton was “admonished” by team president Magic Johnson for the team’s slow, 3-5 start.
One could have probably guessed that something like this was going on behind the scenes, but the fact that it was made public adds extra pressure for Walton, who was brought in before Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka took over in 2017, to win now.
Despite this, Walton doesn’t feel like his job security is at risk (it reportedly isn’t) and told reporters “I’m not going anywhere” after practice on Friday.
