Los Angeles will host 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend, commissioner announces

LOS ANGELES -- Staples Center will be the center of the basketball world in 2018 when the NBA All-Star Game returns to the City of Angels for a fourth time.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver unveiled the plans for the three-day event at a press conference Tuesday in the Chick Hearn Press Room of Staples Center.

All-Star Weekend will run from Feb. 16-18, 2018.

Silver made the announcement alongside Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and representatives from Anschutz Entertainment Group, which owns Staples Center, and the L.A. Sports and Entertainment Commission.

It will be the third time Staples Center has hosted All-Star Weekend since opening in 1999, and the first since 2011.
