The Los Angeles Lakers have won five out of their first six contests. Those aren’t just empty wins against subpar opponents, either. The Lakers have beaten the Utah Jazz, Dallas Mavericks, and San Antonio Spurs, three playoff-caliber squads in the Western Conference.
The 2019-2020 NBA season is just beginning, so the small sample size rules apply to any squad that has gotten off to a hot start (i.e., the Phoenix Suns). However, just because we’re in the early days of November, it doesn’t mean that we can’t glean something from the Lakers’ initial statistics.
In fact, throughout the Purple and Gold’s first six games of the 2019-2020 season, several trends have started to pop up, two of which look like they’ll last throughout the season and one that will change over the course of the next month or two.
