On June 5, Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Reggie Bullock was announced as one of four finalists for the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian of the Year Award.
His nomination is based on his charitable work advocating for the LGBTQ community and advancing their inclusion.
Lakers’ guard, Bullock, grew up with his transgender sister, Mia Henderson, and practiced acceptance and understanding of being unique and embracing differences.
Tragically in the summer of 2014, Henderson was murdered for choosing to be herself. Her death led Bullock to take action and stand up for others like her.
