After a failed attempt to surround LeBron James with ‘playmaking’ and ‘toughness’, Rob Pelinka and co. did a lot better the second time around putting together a roster that actually makes sense on paper for the Los Angeles Lakers.
As the roster currently stands, there are 15 players to assess, with two more players on Exhibit 10 deals, which is essentially a Summer League contract. Since the players signed on these types of deals will hardly see any meaningful playing time, and will spend the majority, if not the entire season in the G-League (should the Lakers decide to even sign them), we’re going to omit them from this power ranking.
