Los Angeles Lakers’ rookie small forward Jemerrio Jones impressed in his first career start, logging five points, 16 rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and a steal in 38 minutes in an impressive 113-109 win against the playoff-bound Utah Jazz.
According to Elias Sports Bureau, Jones’ 16 rebounds is the most for any Lakers player in his first career start. In their last game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Jones pulled 10 rebounds in 25 minutes of action. These are remarkable feats considering Jones’ 6’5″ stature and are indicative of his relentless hustle.
Staples Center was abuzz with 4:41 left in the 4th quarter when Jones went up and blocked Donovan Mitchell’s layup.
