The Los Angeles Lakers were able to acquire Isaiah Thomas in a deadline deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite being an MVP candidate for the Boston Celtics in the 2016-17 season, he was traded by them in a package for Kyrie Irving in the offseason.
While dealing with his recovery from hip surgery, Thomas missed a lot of time to start the season with the Cavaliers. As the team was struggling, Thomas did come back, but clearly wasn’t 100 percent.
As the Cavaliers reshaped their roster, Thomas was sent to the Lakers as part of a package that brought back Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.
