Three-point shooting is more prominent today than it ever has been since being added to the NBA in 1979. There have been famous sharpshooters in the past, such as Ray Allen or Larry Bird, but overall, the output of three-pointers is not even close.
The Los Angeles Lakers are not one of the most prolific three-point shooting teams in the league despite their success. The Lakers have attempted the eighth-fewest three-pointers this season, averaging 31.4 a game.
Compared to teams of the past, though, that is still a very high frequency.
The Lakers have had some great three-point shooters in their history but they do not have that Allen or even Stephen Curry that other franchises have.
