The impending road to the 2018 NBA offseason has already begun for the Los Angeles Lakers. Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka have headed a huge shift towards a superstar acquisition. They have their sights set on Paul George, DeMarcus Cousins, and possibly LeBron James.
However, the front office has overhauled personnel changes. Los Angeles now has its hometown star taken from the 2017 NBA Draft in UCLA product, Lonzo Ball. Also, the shadow of Kobe Bryant has almost completely faded as the Lakers enter their second year of post-Kobe Bryant.
Head Coach Luke Walton has the Lakers dedicated to heavy transition offense while hoping to eliminate unreliability on defense.
