When it was announced in early July that Rajon Rondo had agreed to a two-year, $5.18 million contract to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers in July, some fans of the Purple and Gold were up in arms.
To them, Rondo is straight garbage and has no place on a team that has a real chance of winning the NBA championship.
There have also been a smaller group of Lakers fans who have argued that Rondo should be in the starting lineup, by virtue of his skill sets and his resume.
The cold hard truth is different, though.
