The Los Angeles Lakers are in the driver’s seat if the 2020 NBA season were to resume from its current hiatus. The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference, the second-best in the league behind the Milwaukee Bucks, and made the biggest statement before the league was put on hold by beating the Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers on back-to-back nights.
That is what makes this current hiatus so frustrating from a basketball standpoint. After several years of mediocrity and being high in the lottery, the Lakers finally are not only a playoff team, but a legitimate title contender.
