Lonzo Ball won’t be back in time for training camp scrimmages.

When Lonzo Ball opted to undergo arthroscopic surgery in his left knee in July to repair a tear in his meniscus, the hope was that he’d be ready to go by the time training camp rolled around. As it turns out, that is not the case.

According to Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet, Ball will not be ready for 5-on-5 scrimmages when training camp starts on Tuesday, September 25. Ball has worked his way up to 1-on-1 drills, per the report, but head coach Luke Walton doesn’t want to “rush him back at all.
