With the NBA season coming up quickly, the Lakers added another player to their roster on Wednesday, signing sophomore center Stephen Zimmerman.
The 240-pound 7-footer was drafted 41st overall by Orlando last season, but spent the majority of the year in the NBA G League, averaging 13.4 points and 8.9 rebounds for Erie.
In 21 games with the BayHawks, Zimmerman tallied six double-doubles and six performances of 20-plus points. This included a 24-point, 24-rebound outburst in a win over the Long Island Nets.
Rebounding might be the 20-year-old’s top strength at this point in his young career, as he also cleaned the glass well during his lone season at UNLV in 2015-16.
