Lakers waive Robert Upshaw, Michael Frazier II as roster cuts begin

Robert Upshaw has been waived.

The Los Angeles Lakers have waived undrafted center Robert Upshaw and Michael Frazier II, the team announced in a press release. Upshaw was a high-profile talent the Lakers immediately reached a Summer League commitment from once the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft concluded, and he eventually progressed to be one of the final training camp invitees.

The Lakers are narrowing a 19-player training camp roster to a maximum of 15 players, leaving them with more decisions to make on the direction of their roster. Cutting Upshaw means both Robert Upshaw and Tarik Black are another step closer to rounding out the Lakers' frontcourt depth.
