The Lakers waived forward Jonathan Holmes on Friday after the undrafted rookie played two preseason games for the team.
Holmes suffered a separated shoulder while diving for a loses ball against Portland on Oct. 19. In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, the Lakers will cover Holmes' medical expenses related to this injury.
Holmes averaged 2.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 7.5 minutes for LA.
The Lakers' roster now holds 16 players, leaving one more cut to be made before the season opener against Minnesota on Wednesday.
