The Los Angeles Lakers' were thrashed by the Memphis Grizzlies, losing 112-96 in a one-sided game to open up their three-game road trip. Memphis' offense has been sputtering all season, but a visit from the Lakers served as a belated Christmas present for Memphis to shred through.
The Grizzlies put up 62 points in the first half alone, ending the night with seven players notching double-digit scoring. Memphis shot 56.3 percent as a team, scorching the Lakers wire-to-wire. They led by as many as 25 points, and head coach Byron Scott put up the white flag early in the fourth quarter when it was clearly over.
