The Los Angeles Lakers made a late push but came up short against the Philadelphia 76ers in a 118-116 loss. A questionable play from D’Angelo Russell with the game on the line amounted to an air-ball against the shot clock, and the 76ers were able to wrap things up at the free-throw line through the final 30 seconds.
Larry Nance, Jr. hit a stunning three-pointer with less than 10 seconds left to pull the Lakers within one, but Dario Saric iced the game at the free-throw line.
There are many things to say about getting eviscerated by the 76ers on defense, but it can be summarized as this: the Lakers gave up 93 points through three quarters to the worst offense in the entire NBA and looked helpless during the assault.
