Lakers, UCLA Health reach deal on naming rights for new practice facility

EL SEGUNDO — The Lakers on Wednesday announced a long-term partnership with UCLA Health that includes naming rights to their new practice facility, scheduled to open in the fall of 2017.

The Lakers will pack up and move from the Toyota Sports Center, located two blocks from their new home in El Segundo. The 120,000-square-foot UCLA Health Training Center will be the home of both the Lakers and Development League’s D-Fenders. Unlike with the Toyota Sports Center, the Lakers will own their new building rather than lease space, as they do now from the NHL’s L.A. Kings.

In addition to naming rights, UCLA Health will also serve as the exclusive in-game health provider.
