It had already leaked that the Los Angeles Lakers would be working out former USC guard and 2018 NBA Draft prospect De’Anthony Melton on Friday, and the team announced who would be joining him in a release on Thursday.
Justin Tillman of VCU, Yante Maten of Georgia, Peyton Aldridge of Davidson, Kyle Washington of Cincinnati and Gabe DeVoe of Clemson will round out the latest six-man group to come to the UCLA Health Training Center.
Maten (No. 88) is the only other player in this cluster to be ranked in Jonathan Givony of ESPN’s top 100 prospects in the draft, and while he could be an option for one of the Lakers’ summer league teams or undrafted free agency, almost all of the intrigue in this group is solely focused on Melton.
