On Monday, January 16th, the Lakers staff joined over 1,500 corporate and community volunteers for L.A. Works’ Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at Dorsey High School. As a Title 1 school, 60% of Dorsey High School students receive free lunch or come from low income families. As part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, Dorsey sees higher dropout rates and less school maintenance than other schools in the state of California. To improve the environment and make students feel more at home while at school, the Lakers staff spent the day volunteering to revitalize and transform the Dorsey High School campus.
