When we last received an update on whether or not Brian Shaw would be joining new Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton's assistant coaching staff, Shaw said he and the team were "just finalizing the last details of the contract."
It would appear that the two sides are either very close or have agreed to terms, because Shaw attended the team's pre-draft workout of Duke forward Brandon Ingram, according to Brad Turner of the L.A. Times. While we don't know exactly what Shaw did there, he was reportedly intended to be a "proxy" for Walton at the team's workouts while the latter finishes the season with the Golden State Warriors.
