HONOLULU – Nick Young was being serious.
That was the first sign that something had changed.
He spoke softly, almost in a whisper after the Lakers practiced Monday in Hawaii, as he reflected on last season, one of the toughest years of his NBA career.
Off the court, Young was exploding. He had signed a four-year, $21.5 million contract to stay with the Lakers, moved in with his hip-hop star girlfriend, Iggy Azalea, and was featured in a Sports Illustrated article that chronicled his self-given persona, Swaggy P.
On it, he was awful.
