After four teams in six seasons, the 2019-20 NBA season has served as a story of redemption for Dwight Howard in his second stint with the Los Angeles Lakers.
With Howard’s first stint with the Lakers being well-documented, he has accepted a bench role at this stage of his career and has become a fan favorite once again.
Amid the individual and team success, Howard and the Lakers have dealt with the 2019 NBA preseason in China, Kobe Bryant’s death, and the coronavirus now.
In a video conference call, Howard shared his six-year-old son’s mother passed away from an epileptic seizure, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN:
“I’ve had some things happen in my personal life that has been difficult to really handle,” Howard said on a video conference call.
