This offseason has been years in the making. No matter who has been in power in the Lakers front office, stars have always been the goal for the team to bring in. When there was a transition of power from Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak to Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka, that goal actually felt achievable.
Having went from Timofey Mozgov signing at 12:01 on July 1st to Johnson standing in front of LeBron James, having a meeting at the same time, it showed the Lakers were back. A matter of hours later, James was a Laker.
