Lakers' Luke Walton says visit to Air Force base "good to break things up"

SAN ANTONIO – Luke Walton originally scheduled for the Lakers to leave Los Angeles on Tuesday morning so he could practice here later in the afternoon to fight jetlag.

Walton changed his mind when Lakers director of player development Rondre Jackson informed him of the possibility the team could visit Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio. So, Walton canceled practice so the Lakers could meet members of the 149th Fighter Wing instead.

“It was good to break things up and get out of the routine a little bit,” Walton said before the Lakers played the Spurs on Wednesday at AT&T Center.
