Lakers lose LeBron James to groin injury, still get win over Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers lost star forward LeBron James, but still gave their fans a convincing 127-101 win over the Golden State Warriors in a conflicting rollercoaster of a Christmas Day game.

The Lakers had a 19-point lead at one point in the third quarter, but saw it whittled down to as little as two before a mini-run stretched their advantage back to 9 points before the start of the fourth quarter, appearing to leave the game in jeopardy.

Coinciding with the Warriors’ comeback was an injury to James, who left the game midway through the third with what the team called a strained left groin.
