MINNEAPOLIS >> After gushing about Kobe Bryant’s talent, work ethic and injury threshold, Lakers coach Byron Scott boldly predicted there will never be another player who could emulate him.
But instead of waxing nostalgia about the compliment, Bryant resorted to sarcasm.
Said Bryant: “For the coaches in the future, I hope not.”
Bryant has a point. He has clashed with many of his former coaches, which have included Phil Jackson, Del Harris, Kurt Rambis, Rudy Tomjanovich, Frank Hamblen, Mike Brown, Bernie Bickerstaff and Mike D’Antoni.
The Lakers (3-19) also enter Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves (8-12) at Target Center with Bryant averaging 16.
