Lakers' Julius Randle fined $15,000 for obscene gesture

Julius Randle’s winning shot against the Miami Heat came at a cost.

The NBA fined the Lakers forward $15,000 for making “an obscene gesture” after he scored with 1.9 seconds remaining in overtime of a 102-100 win over the Heat on Wednesday.

The fine was announced by Kiki VanDeWeghe, the NBA’s executive vice president of basketball operations.

Randle celebrated with the so-called “big balls dance,” which traces its origins to former NBA guard Sam Cassell and the character Pedro Cerrano from “Major League.”

Randle is averaging a double-double this season, with 11.6 points and 10.
