NBA commissioner Adam Silver is developing a plan that will allow the 2019-20 NBA season to resume, but it is not a guarantee that every player will want to play.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, Dwight Howard has been one of the more vocal players against returning, but it has caused no friction between the Lakers.
“[There’s] no divide,” an anonymous Lakers player said.
Howard’s agent, Charles Briscoe, later explained his client’s statement.
“The statement was about social injustice and racism,” Briscoe said about Howard’s stance. “Yet everybody is still talking about whether basketball should be played.
