The Lakers are suddenly thin at point guard, after the Lakers announced Monday veteran Jose Calderon will join D’Angelo Russell on the sidelines and will miss two-to-four weeks with a strained right hamstring.
Calderon, 35, started the last eight games – and nine of the last 10 – while Russell sat with knee pain. The Lakers (10-12) are 3-6 with Calderon in the starting lineup. He averaged 6 points and 3.7 assists as a starter in 17.2 minutes per game.
Russell received a platelet-rich plasma injection, a minimally invasive procedure, on his knee on Nov.
