After playing for the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas Summer League, Jabari Brown “is negotiating a $600-plus thousand deal with Euroleague club Anadolu Efes,” according to international basketball reporter David Pick.
Brown, a former regular season call-up of the Lakers and Jordan Clarkson’s college teammate at Mizzou, averaged 4.8 points in 12 minutes per game on 25 percent shooting during summer league after splitting last season between the Los Angeles D-Fenders and Foshan Long Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association.
Brown taking the overseas route is understandable, as a $600,000 deal is significantly more lucrative than the D-League, which only offers two salary tiers (per Chris Reichert’s NBA D-League FAQ) a “B-Level” contract worth $19,500 or an “A-Level” one $26,000.
