The Lakers decided to, literally, go big with their 32nd-overall pick at the 2016 NBA Draft, using the selection on 7-foot-1 center Ivica Zubac.
The 19-year-old Croatian played in his home country from 2013-16 for Zrinjevac and Cibona. He also helped the Croatian U19 National Team to a silver medal at the 2015 FIBA World Championship in Greece. He led his team with 12 points and 13 rebounds in the gold-medal match, though Croatia fell in overtime to the Untied States, 79-71.
Zubac played the last season for Mega Leks in the Adriatic League, where he averaged 10.
