EL SEGUNDO – The Lakers and Clippers, teams that play in the same arena, share more this season than just a hallway. They also share desperation.
But as Lakers coach Byron Scott pointed out, “for different reasons.”
While the Clippers, losers of three in a row, are desperately trying to join the half dozen or so elite teams in the NBA, the Lakers are looking for a half-dozen victories. A home victory against the Clippers on Christmas would be that gift.
The Lakers dropped to 5-24 after Wednesday’s 35-point rout by Oklahoma City, their second lopsided defeat to the Thunder in a week.
