LAS VEGAS -- Over the past few days, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Brandon Ingram has tried to focus on basketball, but it hasn’t been easy, as his hometown of Kinston, North Carolina, is currently being evacuated because of devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Matthew.
Ingram, speaking Thursday night after the Lakers fell in a preseason game to the Sacramento Kings at T-Mobile Arena, said that his family is safe, but he’s concerned considering recent projections indicate that this particular flood is likely to be the worst that his town has ever faced.
